Priming

Finished 17 miles Saturday, and walked for another 6 miles this morning. It was so perfectly nice to run or walk in the current weather.

Completed 73 pages of "Nudge". Business and government can use the power of social influence to promote good(or bad) causes. The main social influences: Information, peer pressure and priming. See the explanation of priming here: https://www.psychologytoday.com/basics/priming.

There is an example of Yale students. The lecturer asked the students to schedule the shots. And only 3% of the students will do it. But if the lecturer will give the students the map of the location of the clinic and asked them to mark it on the calendar, then the percentage will increase to 27%.

We had similar experience for the loan application. If we ask the applicants to complete the application on my websites, it may take a day or two. But if we tell them that I can help them to complete it on the phone, then it will take a few minutes. And another example is for the supporting documents(w2, paystub, bank statements). It would be much faster if we can do to clients' home or office to pick it up. The only thing was that we did not have so much time.
