Performance Tuning

September 22nd, 2012 10:28 PM by Eric Fang

When I was an oracle dba(before the loan broker), we tuned the oracle
database sometimes just simply modified some parameters, other times,
we may have to scratch our heads to spend a few hours or a few days
to figure out. And most of the time, it should work.

Recently I was addictd to running and just hired a coach to help me
improve my running. The first step is to get good running forms.
I hope this will improve my speed by 10%(and it also helps injury
prevetion. Anyway, I did not have any pain for the past 12 months)

Right after Fed QE3,the banks kept around 0.3 points as their profit
margin. I hope this will help lower borrowers' rates. And Friday(Sep 21st)
we learnt from another lender that they will charge extra 0.25 points
to the loans with amount ver 417k. Personally I think since they
have too much business and they will need this 0.25% to help their
banalnce sheet for 4th quarter.

I am not sure whether this performance tuning works? Maybe it's time to
add some bank positions as short term play?

By the way, I finished my 12 mile run strong, still 8:45 mins per mile.
I guess I need figure how to keep the pace when adding each mile,
then I can finish a marathon within 4 hours, but that will be only
a dream.
