Don't attach to "It"

I used to think that I should be available to my clients
and lenders most of the time. And I felt very terrible if
I left the office for over two hours.

Recently I found that life is actually better if you can
be absent from the work once in while. I was out for 2
hours this afternoon. Though had more than 50 emails,
I think I can take care of them within 15 minutes. So
I "stole" the 2 hours.

I used to stay up late so that I could reply my clients'
email until 11pm. But I found life quality is much better
if I leave computer 10pm everyday. By doing that I will
have a very good sleep and rest. And I can get up early
to have a good early morning run.

I guess I can have more activities if I can squeeze 20%
of time not on the job.

I used to have a client who was so "attached" to his loan.
He checked the rate almost everyday for about two weeks and
then he decided to lock it for 3.375. I advised him to wait
for 3.25. And got him the rate. To everybody's surprise,
he cancelled my loan when the loan was approved. I think
he will spend a few more weeks/months on the rate shopping
experience again. I told him that he could spent more time
on the job, family(instead of so much on the rates),and
he said I was "rude".

Happy Reading. Have a good weekend.
