Keep trying

I am trying to improve my English recently. Some friends
suggested to watch TV series, others reading newspaper, etc.
And one way I think it might be useful is to read kids' books.
I just started reading the books my daughter used to read when
she was little. I think it's very amusing.

One of the books I am reading now is" The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Hopefully I can finish it this week, as I promised my
daughter that I would complete 5 books while she is on summer camp.

Another way to improve English is: try to understand how to use
simple words to express myself. I found out that my reading is much
much better than speaking, the best way is to learn how to use those simple phrases, etc. Yes, I am still trying.

And one website recommends to learn English by Jokes. Here is the one I read today:

Two elderly couples were enjoying friendly conversation when one of the men asked the other, "Fred, how was the memory clinic you went to last month?" "Outstanding," Fred replied. "They taught us all the latest psychological techniques - visualization, association - it has made a big difference for me." "That's great! What was the name of that clinic?" Fred went blank. He thought and thought but couldn't remember. Then a smile broke across his face and he asked, "What do you call that flower with the long stem and thorns?" "You mean a rose?" "Yes, that's it!" Then he turned to his wife and asked, "Rose, what was the name of that clinic?"
