Different Way of RE Investment?

This summer, I travelled a lot, and we used a lot of airbnb instead of the hotels.
And very interesting that I found that the owners were living in another units.
So basically they purchased two more units of the condos or apartments, and they live
in one of them, and rent out the rest.

I Vienna, we arrived late after the delay of the flight from Germany, and I was so touched that the owner waited for us until we arrived. And a few days later, we found that he lived in another unit. In LA, the host told me that your unit is on the first floor, and I live on the third. Call me if you need me, blah blah. So maybe you can do the same if you live in big cities, like in LA, SF, etc.

Also in LA, I stayed in the unit when he travelled, and he only rented out the unit when he does not use it. And to my surprise, that he does not own the property. He rented. And he used it as airbnb to ask others to pay for it. Is not it a good idea if you travel a lot?

I just found "how" to read books recently. I just made a plan to read 20 pages every day. And normally I can finish more. So I can read a book in one or two weeks. That's how I can finish a few books recently. And I finished half of the book already:
Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis
