I like Facebook and Twitter recently. Our runninggroup use facebook for the grop activities andfor twitter, I can follow those athletes I like. And I laso, I can follow those authors I like. There is an interesting one from Jeffrey Gitomer:If you want to build wealth, first build a wealth of knowledge.
In 1997, Oracle got me an offer to work as a DBA.The reason I did not accept the offer was the requirement for the travel(at least half of the year). But I regretted a few years later sinceotherwise I should be a very strong Oracle DBA.And if I joined Oracle DBA that year, I couldnot become one of the top Loan Originators.
My path to the top originators was different from a lot of others. I did spend a lot of time o understand the mortgage industry. I don't knowhow much total time. But I think it be more 10000hours. And according to Malcolm Gladwell(Authorof Outliers), all people should be successful ifyou work consistently on someting for over 10000hours.
I also have lots of clients who are also good engineers. They spent a lot of time doing the homework on realestate investment. And they are very good landlordsnow. And some of them can semi-retire now.So yes, indeed I agree: If you want to build wealth, first build a wealth of knowledge.
