0.04 secs difference and 1 minute faster

It's very interesting to watch some of the Olympic Trials.
There are two intersting stories on the following 5k Olympics Trail.

1)Julia Lucas almost made the Olympic Team if not beaten by Kim
Conley for 0.04 secs. Lucas led most of the 12.5 loops, and
was over-passed by three Olympian in the last 100 meters.
Her strategy was a problem(maybe also related to her injury).
But what a pity for her. She missed the opportunity by just
0.04 secs slower. It indeed makes those two young ladies life
different in the future.

2)From other stories, 15:19.79 was Kim's best 5k record ever.
It took her 4 years to run one minute faster. And she made the
team 4 years later. It takes lots of efforts for this achievement.

For every career, there are two kinds of competitiona, compete
with peers, and compete with yourself. And most of the time, you
will compete with yourself. And you will beat the competition if
you constantly challenge yourself.
