Will Power Training

Starting two weeks ago, I tried to limit my time for wechat(a chinese APP similar to Whatsapp), especially limit use of the moments. The first week, I tried to disable the moments during the day time, and enable it just around the bed time. And then disable it again. The reason was that it is so hard to resist the temptation to click the moments to see what's going on for my friends' activities. It worked well.

And starting this week, I will try not play enable/disable game, and just not review it during the day time, and only review it before bed. It worked well on the first day. And I noticed the production increase for this weekend, I finished about 90 pages of the book "The power of Habit". If I can keep doing this, I could finish this book this week.

Personally I think the moments on the wechat wasted a lot of my time, and reviewing all those files or some other people's life will not show any accomplishment from my side. So I decided to use the time to read books instead. And I would start again to put all the books I will finish on my books list.

A lot of people told me that it is very hard to continue for the running. I do not know how I did it. But according to the Power of Habit. For cycle of the Cue, Routine and Rewards, maybe I did the rewards part well? I do reward me with a cup of my favorite dark chocolate milk after each hard work out, then I do not feel any of the workouts hard any more. Or maybe I keep a log of my runnings every week, and I can compare my progress with my training for the last month or last year?

I will not run June 19 Marina Bay half Marathon at Richmond Bay. And I will not register for the big sur half marathon this Nov. But I will still try to run faster for the half marathon, and will add one more half for the end of November.

And yes, we will have another high school classmate reunion in 2017. And every year we will meet on one of the marathon course. We met at Sacramento for CIM in 2014; met Vancouver in 2015; met at Big Sur Marathon for 2016. And we decided that we would meet at Denver marathon in 2017. So excited about it.
