Summer is over(Sep 2016)

I know this summer is SO different. One of the main reasons is that the parents will be very busy when you have a junior/senior kid(s).

For the past a few years, every labor day, I would participate a local 10 k race. I would use it to check whether I am getting older. If I can not run the 10k under 47 minutes, then I think I am getting older. But I did not run the past Labor day race because of my busy schedule.

My daughter went to Cal Poly to play tennis starting last Thursday till Saturday. Then I drove the Cal Poly Saturday morning. It was not a long drive until the afternoon journey was over. I met the tennis team around noon, then we went to UC Santa Barbara for a campus tour. And drove to The Grove in Los Angeles for a few hours, and headed to San Diego and stayed for the night. We stayed at UCSD campus for about two hours, mainly just walked around, and headed back home the same. I drove about 1200 miles in the two days, totally exhausted when we got home. Then I decided not to run the 10k race. I could not do well any way.

And the worst thing was that I fell from the ElliptiGo when I tried to ride it Tuesday morning, it was indeed a bad accident, I had 5 bruises over the body, from the face, the knee, the hand and the shoulder. But the good thing is that I can have another week of resting until Portland Marathon(Oct 9th).

The business is getting even better, lots of prospects came to the refinance, purchase pre-approval or simple check the possibility of the refinance or the chat. I told one client not to refinance now since his current 5/1 ARM is 2.25% with 2.5 years to go. And told another client to use the heloc to pay down the first loan, so that he can get better first loan rate.

Some clients are concerned about the rates' going up. I am not concerned at all. I think the rate will still stay at the current level. And the economy is still not robust at all. Sometimes we just live a California life, and we may not know what happens the rest of the country or the rest of the world. I heard from a friend that ocean freight had a difficulty year and still struggles for the coming years. It would suggest there is a long way to go for the global economy recovery.

And another improvement is that I finished one book: Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. I think I should have more time for other books as well.

Stay tuned.
