What can help you find that perfect gift?

I tried to finish the book by the end of this year: The small Big -- Small changes that spark big influence. There are lots of the "tips", but we can only apply some of them. Some will be good, some might be good, but we can not use them.

The chapter  30 discussed the difficulties of choosing perfect gifts. There are 50% of gifts returns after the Christmas every year, so that means 50% gifts were sent to the receiver were not the gifts they liked. For the weddings, normally the registry will help you send the "right" gift since those the new weds like to have. So you will not make any mistakes. And the average gift size is about $120. But for the Christmas gifts or birthday gifts, if you are not sure which sent, you can ask for a couple of different items. The receiver will be "upset" about your not knowing them well enough, and it is better than a gift they do not like.

I can share one example. I used to send a gift card to my client,  and I think they can use it any way, so I sent a Costco card to them. And a few weeks later, my client told me that she could not use it because they do not have costco in their area. So basically this is useless to them, I made a mistake of assuming costco is around everywhere.

It is very close to holiday season again, and hopefully you guys can pick the right ones for your friends and your family.

I finished the last half marathon today. The finish time is 1:35:47. Not a bad one on a rainy day. And I decided not to run as many as of the halves next year. But I will be a pacer for some of the races. And I will run a few cross country as well.
