Too early for the planning?

February 4th, 2014 10:51 AM by Eric Fang

I went to the trail run with two other runners
from the same club. They asked me what I was
planning for the race? I told them I was planning
for the Marathon Race teh end of this year.

I am only 10 minutes away for qualifying Marathon.
And I will be 5 minutes away, the 2nd of next year.
So in order to qualify, I only need to run 10 seconds
faster this year, and 10 seconds faster next year.
I know this is hard, but I think it is doable.

Since I am getting older, I can not run faster any
more, but I can run longer with similar pace. So
instead of planning to improve for my half marathon,
I planned to work on the faster pace for Marathon.

Starting this year, I plan to have one half marathon
every weekend, with the pace 8:00 minute per mile.
If I can do it, then I can run a marathon with
total time of 26.2*8=209 minutes 36 second. So
the goal is for 3:30 is doable.

It is the same even with our professional career.
I quitted my job after I have enough planning and
quite good base of clients. And I also plan to
expand the business to other states, I have to
plan for the test, pre-licensing training, continue
education, etc.
