Stock Market is Crazy

It is up today, and it kept going up since last year. DOW Was only about 13,000 in 2013; and now it is about 23,837 now. More than 80% higher for the past 4 years. Nasdaq was about 130% higher than Jan of 2013. It is crazy. And it minded me those days of 1998-2000. It kept going up then as well.

I took the day off Monday and went to Napa. I had a great time there, especially that I took a few great photos there and had a great lunch at downtown napa.

Completed about 100 pages of the book: A Walk in the Woods. See my booklist here. I purchased two more books: Principles: Life and Work and Ray Dalio: A Biography. One was written by Ray Dalio. Another one is his Biography.

There are some interesting topics in A Walk in the Woods. It talked about a ghost town named: Centralia, PA.  It has a population of 1000 in 1980. And only 63 in 1990, and 7 people stayed in 2013. There are lots of fires underneath the ground(started by coal). And the government had the agreement with the 7 people who still lived there that the house will be taken through eminent domain after they die. See the link here if you are interested. The author Bill Bryson visited this ghost town while he hiked on AT(Appalachian Trail). And he knocked a few doors though he did not meet anyone. And he found that it would be very awkward for him to say anything if someone indeed opened the door.
